Shahrukh Khan completed his 20 years in Bollywood .He is called as “King Khan” or badshah of hindi cinema as he is one of the most followed Indian icon on a global arena. So here is a list of 10 movies that you should watch as a Shahrukh Khan fan.



10) Paheli – Screened at Sundance Film Festival and the Palm Springs International Film Festival.


Plot in short - A ghost and falls in love with a newly married woman Laachi. He makes her fall in love and conceives his child as her husband Kishen leaves for business on their wedding night for 5 years. Now Kishen comes back and then there is a test for the real v/s doppelganger where human wins. But it is revealed later that ghost did take control of her husband body and they live happily after.


Cast - Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher

9) Kuch kuch hota hain - Karan Johar’s debut directorial venture.




Plot in short - Anjali and Rahul are two best friends and suddenly Tina enters. Rahul and Tina falls in love but Anjali has crush on Rahul but never tells him. Finally Rahul and Tina gets married but Tina dies and Rahul is left with a baby daughter named Anjali and 8 letters  for his daughter to be opened on her birthdays by Tina. Now his daughter manages to unite Rahul and Anjali but Anjali is soon to be wed with Aman.  After knowing their story Aman backs off and let the man have his girl.

8) Asoka - this is about the life and times of emperor Ashoka the Great.


Plot in short - he was the most visionary of kings as he wanted to expand his kingdom. He also had enemy in form of his step- brother Susima. Kaurwaki a princess in distress falls for Asoka. Then there are several incidents like Kalinga general Bheema lying about Arya and Kaurwaki’s death, Devi’s marriage with Asoka. Finally there is war with Kalinga - Magadha and Asoka wins but finds him at loss after seeing the destruction; Asoka becomes a Buddhist.

Cast - Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Ajith Kumar

Watch out for - 1) Shahrukh Khan playing a prince and surrendering completely to the role.
                          2) Chemistry between Shahrukh Khan - Kareena Kapoor.

                2) Asoka throwing the sword and converting to a Buddhist.

7) Don- remake to Amitabh Bachchan starter cult movie Don.


Plot in short – Don is the prince of underworld,  D’Silva a cop dedicated his life to stop him. There is a doppelganger Vijay so D’Silva plans everything so as to break into Don’s world and capture his big boss. Then there is Roma trying to avenge her brother’s kill and Jasjit planning to kill D’Silva for destroying his family.  The audiences were in for surprise as the real identiy of D’Silva and Don are revealed towards the climax.

Cast -  Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani, Arjun Rampal

Watch out for – 1) Shahrukh Khan playing baddie with style and attitude.
                           2) There are many stories in the background happening which has its link with don and still you don’t lose the plot; very few hindi films have managed to engage viewers in this manner before.                                                                   
                           3) It is different from the original Don.

                2) Fight between Don and Vardhan.

6) Om shati om - more than 40 actors appear throughout the movie.


Plot in short - A junior artist Om Prakash Makhija falls for  Shanti Priya but she is in an undisclosed marriage to producer Mukesh Mehra. He kills her and Om Prakash sees all of these and tries to help her but all in vain. He dies and reincarnates in the form of Om Kapoor to takes revenge and everything ends perfectly.

Cast-  Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade, Kirron Kher and the forty plus  stars.

5) Dil se.. - Shahrukh Khan and Mani Ratnam join hands for the first time.


Plot in short – Amar Varma is an All India radio program executive who falls for Meghna member of a terrorist wing trying to assassinate the President.  Amar understands her plan and try to stop her but gets attacked. He later finds her and activates the bomb in her vest and they both die.

Cast - Shahrukh Khan, Manisha Koirala, Preity Zinta

4) Baazigar - Abbas – Mustan directing Shahrukh Khan for first time.


Plot in short - he is the character that you love to root for as he plays a killer on a mission in this flick. Vicky falls in love with the daughter of his enemy and plans to take his soon to be father-in laws property and finish him off as he holds grudge against him. Vicky’s family was destroyed by Madan chopra so he kills his daughter Seema and takes over his property which is rightfully his. Soon everything is revealed and Vicky dies killing  Madan .

Cast - Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, Dalip Tahil, Johnny Lever

Director - Abbas - Mustan


Watch out for - 1) The pairing of Shahrukh Khan- Kajol.
                           2) One of the best thrillers in hindi cinema.

Scenes - 1) Vicky loosing the kart race to Madan Chopra.
                2) Vicky killing Madan Chopra with the rod stuck in his abdomen.

Dialogues - “kabhi kabhi kuch jeetne ke liye kuch harna bhi padta hai.. aur haar kar jeetnay wale ko Baazigar kehte hai”.

3) Dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge  –  Aditya Chopra’s directorial debut



Plot in short – Raj is a spoiled brat and Simran a soon to be married and devoted daughter. They meet on a trip they fall in love but cannot move ahead with their relation. So Raj chases her to India and says those magic words in a turmeric field. There is song and thankfully no dance but the bride’s father is not convinced .In the end he gets the girl in style after fighting with goons.

Plot in short -  Rizwan Khan is a muslim who falls in love with a hindu girl Mandira and marries her . She has a son they are happy family but 9/11 happens and everything is ruined. He plans to meet President of America on his wife’s sarcastic words. He befriends people on the way and helps post- Katrina America. He meets President and his mission is accomplished as the world understands his message.

1) Chak de inda – based on a real life real life story of ex Chief National Coach Maharaj Krishan Kaushik. 



Plot in short – He is an Indian hockey player and is accused of foul play when India looses a match against Pakistan. Years later he is given a chance to prove his mettle so he dons uniform of Indian women’s hockey team. A team so varied like the vast Indian land; his responsibility is to guide them and form a team to represent India at “The World Championship”. This time the coach succeeds in not only combining  force to build a World Cup winning team but also to receive respect for which he was thriving all the way along.

  2. Awesome list! I just wish you hadn't posted the spoilers for each movie! You revealed some heavy-duty plot details- especially for the thrillers. I don't mind because I've seen them all already though- but just for other people, I think you should post a spoiler warning at the start :)
